Mahama assures helicopter crash families of continued national support one year on

President John Dramani Mahama has assured the families of the eight victims of the August 6, 2025 military helicopter crash that the government and the people of Ghana remain united in supporting them as the nation commemorates the first anniversary of the tragedy.

The assurance was given on Thursday, August 6, during a National Inter-Faith Memorial Service organised to honour the eight individuals who lost their lives when a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter crashed while on an official assignment in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

The August 6, 2025 crash claimed the lives of eight people, including senior government officials and military personnel, and remains one of Ghana's most devastating aviation disasters in recent history.
