EPA proposes naming Ghana’s plastics law after late Murtala Mohammed

Prof Ayamga-Adongo said he wants the legislation to be named the Murtala Mohammed Law on Plastics in Ghana in honour of the late minister's contribution to the fight against plastic pollution.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has called on President John Mahama and Parliament to name Ghana's proposed plastics legislation after the late Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, in recognition of his commitment to tackling plastic pollution.

If we name this legislation the Murtala Mohammed Law on Plastics in Ghana, it will go a long way in acknowledging his efforts to end plastic pollution in Ghana.
