DTI calls on youth to embrace AI and future-ready skills at Jobs & Opportunities Fair

The Founder and President of the Design and Technology Institute (DTI), Constance Swaniker, has urged young people to embrace artificial intelligence (AI), strengthen their technical competencies and develop entrepreneurial mindsets to remain competitive in the evolving world of work.

The event, held under the theme "Navigating Skills, Careers and the Future of Work: Preparing Young People to Thrive in an AI-Enabled World," brought together academia, industry leaders, employers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, development partners and hundreds of young people.

Swaniker said Africa's greatest challenge is not the rise of automation but the failure to adequately prepare young people for emerging opportunities in an AI-driven economy.
