Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticised the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for moving to various places to seek blessings to win the pending 2024 presidential elections.

In a video shared on X by Aristotlektv on Monday, September 16, 2024, he took a swipe at Dr Bawumia's frequent visits to churches, traditional leaders, and a shrine in pursuit of blessings for his presidential bid. "He will go pay a courtesy call on a chief, then the chief will commend him for his good works, then the next time he will go to a church and the clergy will lay hands on him and pray for him, then he will go to a shrine to also seek blessings from the gods, and then they will congratulate him.

What legacy is the Akufo-Addo government leaving behind that he wants to win the 2024 elections?" he stated.

Dr.

Bawumia, as part of his campaign in the Greater Accra Region, visited some Ga communities where he was captured in a video receiving prayers from a Wulomo at a shrine.

Critics of the vice president have questioned his fidelity as a Muslim following the circulation of the video, while supporters of the NPP have lauded him for exhibiting religious tolerance.
