Zambia mourns its only white former Vice President Guy Scott

Mr Scott occupies a singular space in modern history for serving as Africa’s only white president in the two decades following the end of apartheid in South Africa.
In his 2019 memoir, “Adventures in Zambian Politics: A Story in Black and White,” he recalled being summoned to Mr Sata’s office before being appointed as vice president.
Guy Scott served as Zambia’s Vice-President for about three years, from 23 September 2011 until 28 October 2014, when he became acting president following Michael Sata’s death.
