Police arrest alleged romance scammer accused of defrauding women, sharing intimate images

According to the Police, in a post on social media on July 28, 2026, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect posed as a pastor conducting online church services on Instagram, where he allegedly convinced women that God had revealed they were his future wives."Investigations further revealed that the suspect shared the intimate images of some victims with his wife, Sally Akosua Amoasah, who is also accused of threatening the victims," the statement added.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Nana Yaw Bonsu Kwarteng, a suspected romance scammer accused of defrauding several women through false marriage promises and the non-consensual sharing of their intimate images.
