The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has officially inaugurated a reconstructed and significantly expanded Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, restoring one of the country's most critical lifesaving facilities barely a year after it was destroyed by fire.
Even before officially resuming full operations, the laboratory will host a landmark cardiac intervention programme in collaboration with the National Cardiothoracic Centre, specialist cardiologists from the United States, the Mount Carmel Foundation, Africa World Airlines, and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.
Beyond paying medical bills for vulnerable patients, the Trust Fund says it is committed to building a resilient healthcare system capable of delivering world-class specialist care within Ghana.
