
Interior Ministry issues flood alert for Greater Accra as GMet forecasts widespread rain on Monday
The SMS alert from the Interior Ministry The warning comes as the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) forecast unsettled weather across much of the country over the next 18 hours, with rain and thunderstorms expected to affect parts of the northern, transition and middle sectors on Sunday night.
Residents of Greater Accra have been urged to remain vigilant after the Ministry of the Interior issued an emergency weather alert warning of possible flooding ahead of moderate rainfall expected early on Monday (July 6, 2026).
By Monday morning, slight to moderate rainfall is forecast along the coast and in parts of the middle belt, accompanied by patches of mist or fog over mountainous and forest areas that could reduce visibility during the early hours.
