Guan Congress 2026 launched at Anum

The Guan Congress 2026, to be held from August 14-16, 2026, was launched at the Palace of the Anum Traditional Council on the theme: "Harnessing Resources in Guan Communities for Inclusive and Sustainable Development".

The National President of the Guan Congress, Enyineh Gyadu Nkansah III, who is also Ankobeahene of Larteh Ahenease in the Akuapem Traditional Area, gave a brief history of the Guan Congress and said the first conference, which was organised by four men from Boso Ajumako, including Kwame Ampone, Obosomfo Yaw Essah, Kwabena Hiango and Kofi Nyanteh, took place on November 1, 1981 (45 years ago) at Boso Anyinase.

He stressed that the congress targeted fostering unity among the Guans and working towards the promotion and development of the Guan language, art, and culture as initial objectives of the Guan Congress and urged all Guan communities to come together for the development of their respective areas.
