Environmental scientist commends EPA for banning Styrofoam  

He said the ban on the use of Styrofoam products, which takes many years to decay, would not only help to protect the environment but would also prevent the country from suffering serious environmental and health consequences.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Kumasi on the proposed ban of Styrofoam products by the EPA beginning early 2027, he pointed out that Styrofoam products could survive for decades and this could cause serious environmental hazard and nuisance.

Owusu Fordjour Aidoo, an environmental expert and researcher has commended the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for announcing a ban on the use of Styrofoam in Ghana.
