Court quashes Office of Registrar General’s attempt to wind up, liquidate Zeepay

The ORC had on July 17, 2026 secured an ex-parte ruling, on the blindside of Zeepay’s lawyers, from the same judge to, among other things, wind up Zeepay and also act as the liquidator of the company’s assets.

So, whereas the July 17 ex-parte ruling killed Zeepay, the July 30 ruling has resurrected the company.

But the judge, in his ruling, stated that per the substantive legislation covering the matter before it, the Applicant was right, that the Respondent should have come with a Petition instead of an Original Motion.
