The controversy surrounding Afia Pokua has escalated as an elder from the Kwahu community in Manhyia has come forward, offering new insights into the situation that sparked outrage among the Ashanti people.
The young woman's remarks about the Ashanti Kingdom on Onua TV ignited widespread backlash, and now fresh revelations suggest her defiance played a key role in the heightened tensions.
In a candid interview, the elder revealed that he had counselled Afia Pokua to demonstrate deep remorse before the chiefs at Manhyia Palace, believing that such an approach might soften their stance. "I advised her to kneel before the elders, roll on the floor, and weep openly to show how sorry she was," the elder recounted.
He noted that this level of humility would have likely resonated with the chiefs and elders, paving the way for a more favourable outcome.
