The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has confirmed the arrest of eight persons in connection with violent incidents during the recent Ablekuma North rerun election.

During the recent rerun held across 19 polling stations in Ablekuma North, three journalists and several political figures, including the former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, , were assaulted.
