Commissioner of Police (COP) Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the 's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been elected to a four-year term on the newly formed INTERPOL Africa Committee.

The INTERPOL Africa Committee serves as a crucial platform for enhancing cooperation among law enforcement agencies across the continent.

Its core mission includes identifying key strategic priorities in the fight against crime, proposing action plans to the African Regional Conference and providing expert advice on criminality and police cooperation specific to the region.

Other members elected to the committee for four-year terms are from Egypt, Kenya and South Africa, while representatives from Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Sudan were nominated to serve two-year terms.
