Great Olympics defender Larry Sumaila is confident his side will overcome arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to clinch the 2025 Democracy Cup title next week.

The Dade Boys will battle the Phobians in the second edition of the annual tournament at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, September 5.

The fixture promises to renew one of the fiercest rivalries in Ghanaian football, with both sides determined to make a statement on a day set aside by Parliament to celebrate the nation's democratic journey through sport.

Sumaila, who will line up against his former club, believes the tie will showcase the intensity and tradition that defines Accra derbies. "We all know when it comes to Hearts of Oak and Olympics, the rivalry between the two teams is very great and intense," he told reporters after training on Thursday. "We call on everyone to come to the stadium to witness a very good football game." The defender urged supporters to turn up in their numbers and back Olympics as they seek to reclaim their glory. "We want to invite all our supporters to rally behind us on the 5th of September at the Legon Sports Stadium to cheer us on so that we can bring back the glory to Great Olympics.
