Players in the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League have praised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its headline partner, betPawa, for extending the Locker Room Bonus initiative to the women's top-flight for the 2025/26 season.
Faith Ladies defender Beauty Abena Julius, Jonina Ladies' Matilda Bless Fodu, and Ampem Darkoa Ladies' Comfort Yeboah described the move as a game-changer for women's football in Ghana, citing its potential to boost motivation and competitiveness. "This is a huge encouragement for us," said Beauty Abena. "It shows that the GFA and betPawa truly value women's footballers.
Knowing there's a tangible reward for every victory will push us to give our all on matchday." Yeboah stressed that the initiative will make "every game count even more," while Fodu called it "recognition for the hard work we put in week after week." The Locker Room Bonus, introduced in the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago, rewards players immediately after each win.
It will be implemented from matchday one and run throughout the new campaign.
