Former Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, Issah Fuseini, has claimed that the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to rerun the parliamentary election in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency was possibly influenced by political pressure.
Fuseini's concerns come in response to the EC's announcement following disputes over the authenticity of the results from the December 7, 2024, general elections.

Speaking on Channel One TV's The Big Issue on Saturday, Fuseini suggested that recent public statements by senior government figures, particularly from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Asiedu Nketia, may have influenced the EC's judgment. "We have seen the National Chairman of the NDC, Asiedu Nketia, on TV saying that after they are done with the judiciary, the next stage will be dealing with the EC…We have been hearing this from the NDC since they were in opposition, and a lot of NDC leading members have said they will reset the EC and the judiciary.
He added, "That is exactly what we're seeing.
