The Hajj Taskforce has admitted to a case of mistaken identity that led to a Ghanaian woman being wrongly declared dead during this year's Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The mix-up, which resulted in the issuance of an official death certificate by Ghana's consulate in Saudi Arabia, caused the family of Fatima Kassim to hold her funeral, only for her to return home alive shocking her Madina UN community in Accra.

Director of Administration of the Hajj Taskforce, Alhaji Iddi Sumaila, explained the circumstances leading to the error. "There were two patients there.

One had a tourist visa, and the other went with us, but by then their passport was not with them.
