The Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Abraham Amaliba, has declared a firm stance against unauthorised billboards and signage placed on the shoulders and medians of roads in Accra, promising a citywide clearance operation.

Speaking on TV3's New Day on June 20, 2025, Amaliba expressed deep concern over the proliferation of unapproved billboards in the Greater Accra Region.

He has consequently launched an operation to remove unauthorised billboards that obstruct the view of both drivers and pedestrians, following the flouting of a 21-day ultimatum issued by the NRSA.

Leading the exercise himself, Amaliba and his team stormed East Legon in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency to remove all improperly placed signage. "My men were at Ayawaso West Wuogon to remove signage from medians and other inappropriate locations.
