Supreme Court nominee, Justice Kweku T.
Ackaah-Boafo, has stated that the ability to recite the national pledge should not be used as a measure of patriotism.
He made this assertion on Friday, June 20, during his vetting by Parliament's Appointments Committee, after he was asked by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to recite the pledge, an exercise that sparked lighthearted moments among committee members. "In as much as the pledge is a great thing for all of us to know, I am not sure Ghanaian patriotism must be anchored in our ability to recite the pledge only.
There are other things that all of us can do to demonstrate our patriotism to the country," Justice Ackaah-Boafo stated in response.
