A member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of the opposition (NDC), Issah Yusif Gaani, has expressed frustration over what he describes as neglect by the party following its return to power after defeating the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV on June 12, 2025, Gaani questioned the logic of expecting unpaid and unemployed party communicators to defend government policies, especially when they themselves have not benefited from the interventions being promoted. "For me, I have said it and I won't hide it, the sacrifices we've made for this party are enormous.
We pray and hope the leadership will take notice," he said.
Gaani noted that he once held a position during the previous NDC administration, which prevented him from securing employment under the NPP government.
