The Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has outlined several strict measures his office has implemented to eliminate ghost names from the National Service Scheme and close loopholes that allow individuals to exploit the system for financial gain.

Speaking on TV3's The Keypoints on Saturday, June 14, 2025, Felix Gyamfi stated that students applying for National Service from unaccredited tertiary institutions will not be permitted to participate in the scheme. "If you attend the university and it's not properly accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), you cannot do National Service.

If your accreditation status is not properly certified by the GTEC, you cannot come and do National Service," he said.

Gyamfi further stated that the number of eligible service personnel enrolling in 2025 will be significantly reduced.
