Lawyer for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has confirmed that his client is receiving medical care following his recent arrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Speaking on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem, lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi revealed that Chairman Wontumi had been unwell even before he was detained. "He has had the flu since last week and was already receiving treatment, which is why we initially requested a postponement of his CID interrogation.
He is still not fully recovered and is currently at the hospital," Appiah-Kubi disclosed.
Later that evening, the lawyer confirmed that the embattled politician had been officially hospitalised.
