Lawyer and NPP stalwart Andy Appiah Kubi says Chairman Wontumi could have walked free by now if it weren't for a last-minute legal roadblock.
Speaking in an exclusive update, Appiah Kubi revealed that all bail conditions for the embattled Ashanti Regional Chairman have been fully met - including the GH₵50 million sum and the required sureties.
He expressed appreciation to Brian Acheampong, who stepped in with the documentation that sealed the deal. "We have the agreement that we are ready to end," Appiah Kubi said. "But for this application, we would have ended today.
Unfortunately, our hands are tied." The legal issue, which appears to be an unexpected third-party application, has stalled the process.
