The Minister of Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has promised active collaboration between the government and the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) to ensure that Ghana's seawaters remain the safest for all ship owners and operators.
He made this known during a working visit to the Ghana Maritime Authority on Tuesday, 25th February 2025.
Speaking during a media engagement, the Minister said that the Ministry, together with the GMA, will be working to make sure that employment opportunities are explored within the marine sector.
According to him, the marine sector has the potential to employ the youth, which aligns with the President's vision of creating more employment opportunities for them. "If there are any opportunities to create job, it is through the marine subsector.
