Following the final funeral ceremony for the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash, a thanksgiving ceremony was held for the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, one of the victims of the crash.
The service, held at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra, on August 17, 2025, drew various political figures, to express their gratitude to God for a successful funeral and to offer prayers for the families of the departed.
President and his wife, Lordina Mahama, were in attendance.
Other political figures, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, ; and Minister of Health, , were spotted arriving at the premises of the church.
