Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has outlined her plan to address the persistent flooding issues in the capital city, stressing the need for better drainage systems and stricter building regulations. "There is an ongoing project which started some time ago.
This project is focused on working on the drainage systems, and I believe that when we collaborate with stakeholders to fast-track it, the issue of flooding will be addressed," she stated.
She also called for stricter oversight in the issuance of building permits, arguing that construction in unsuitable areas has contributed to flooding. "Before someone can build, they must come for a permit.
