The People's National Congress (PNC) has formed an 11-member committee to investigate circumstances leading to the disqualification of the party's flagbearer from contesting the 2024 presidential election by the Electoral Commission. The committee is also tasked to take input from party members across all 276 constituencies to know where it faulted and how it can overcome the inadequacies to effectively reorganize and position itself well towards election 2028. "We need to place PNC as the next party to govern Ghana in 2029 and beyond", Bernard Monah, 2024 flagbearer of PNC stated whilst addressing the media in Kumasi after a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

After a high court in Accra dismissed the lawsuit challenging the Electoral Commission's disqualification of Bernard Monah from the 2024 presidential election, the PNC threw its weight behind the presidential candidate for National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama.
The 11-member committee has also been assigned to review whether the declaration of PNC to support the NDC has been symbiotic or parasitic. "We are poised to win the 2028 elections, hence, our decision to hit the ground running without any delay", Mr Monah pointed out on January 27.
