As Ghana prepares for its pivotal 2024 General Elections on December 7, the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has issued a clarion call to its members to prioritise professionalism, peace, and ethical journalism during this critical period in the nation's democratic journey.
In a statement released today, PRINPAG reminded its members of their indispensable role in shaping the narrative and ensuring credible, transparent, and peaceful elections.
The association emphasised that the media is a cornerstone of democracy, tasked with disseminating accurate information and promoting national cohesion.
Key Guidelines for Media Practitioners The leadership of PRINPAG outlined six key principles for its members to uphold during the election period: Professional Standards: Journalists and publishers were urged to verify all information before publication, avoiding sensationalism or unverified claims that could spark unrest.
