The government of Ghana has issued a directive for the immediate recall of all Diplomatic and Service Passports issued under the previous administration.
The directive, signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, was addressed to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
According to the notice, the recall is part of efforts by President John Dramani Mahama's government to streamline the issuance of official travel documents and ensure their proper use in line with national and international standards.
It also says this directive aims to safeguard the integrity of Ghana's diplomatic engagements by preventing the misuse of these high-level passports.
