The Deputy Director responsible for training at the , Dr.
Serebour Quicoe, has asked the media to prioritise verifying the information they share during the December polls.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a training event organised by Penplusbytes, the Deputy Director expressed his fears about the potential risks of disinformation going into the December 7, 2024, general election. "My greatest fear for the 2024 election is misinformation because both traditional and social media at times are in a hurry to put forward information without checking its authenticity.
So, I foresee a situation where people will be coming out with audio or videos that may not even be related to Ghana's election. "We have had instances where there was a video attributed to the district level election, and the person was in a green jacket when everybody knows that in Ghana we don't use green jackets," he stated.
