National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has declared that the minority caucus will not reconvene in Parliament until after the next elections.

This decision comes after the majority caucus moved to ask for a recall of Parliament after Speaker Alban Bagbin's declaration of four seats as vacant was recently overturned by the Supreme Court.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Supreme Court upheld Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin's challenge and overturned Speaker Bagbin's ruling.

Bagbin's interpretation of Article 97(1)(g) of the Ghanaian Constitution as the basis for declaring the seats vacant was at the heart of the disagreement.
