A study by the Ghana Statistical Service indicated that almost two million youth are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), which has fallen by almost half a million as of the third quarter of last year. For 24-year-old senior high school graduate Stephen Baafi Acheampong, his dream of becoming a professional footballer was cut short after suffering a shoulder injury in 2017. With his hopes of becoming a football player dashed, he decided to explore other paths. He told myjoyonline.com in a recent interview that he has found and embraced a new path, as he now survives on washing shoes in Bantama, in the Ashanti Region.
