A recent analysis by IMANI Africa on the manifestos of Ghana's major political parties has revealed that many of their promises lack clarity, feasibility, and mechanisms for accountability.

IMANI Africa's content analysis covered the manifestos of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the Movement for Change.

The findings suggest that all three parties have included numerous vague commitments, especially on economic issues, which could pose challenges for accountability if they come into power.

Presenting the findings at IMANI Africa's 2024 IMANIfesto event in Accra on Tuesday, November 5, research associate Dennis Asare highlighted that the NPP and NDC manifestos include approximately 574 and 851 promises, respectively, with a majority focusing on economic policies.
