The President of the University of Ghana Chapter of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Professor Ransford Gyampo, has expressed disappointment with Organised Labour's decision to call off the planned nationwide strike, arguing that the reasons provided were insufficient.

His comments follow Organised Labour's announcement to suspend the strike action, originally scheduled for Thursday, October 10, against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.

This decision came after a series of high-level discussions with government officials aimed at addressing the ongoing crisis of illegal mining activities affecting various regions of the country.
