The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has cautioned its staff not to partake in the nationwide strike declared by the Organised Labour.

Organised Labour is set to commence its nationwide strike action from Thursday, October 10, 2024, over the government's failure to address the illegal mining (galamsey) menace.

But the Agency says any staffer who goes on strike does so at his or her peril.

Speaking at an event at the Agency in Accra on Wednesday, the Board Chairman of GMet, Isaac Amoo, stressed that GMet was an essential service organisation and did not approve any of its workers to go on strike. "GMET is part of the essential services of this country.
