Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Bakery Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily running of our busy bakery.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and ensuring high operational standards.

You will supervise production, staff, stock, quality, deliveries, and daily operations while working closely with the Directors to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and reduce waste.

Job Overview

You will be required to be based at the bakery (accommodation will be provided) and oversee the day-to-day running of the bakery, ensuring:

  • Efficient production

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all daily bakery operations.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Monitor bread quality and minimise wastage.
  • Lead and supervise bakery staff.
  • Plan staffing and daily production schedules.
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded and dispatched efficiently.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders.
  • Ensure equipment faults are reported promptly.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Resolve operational issues proactively.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports for the Directors.
  • Support continuous improvement across the bakery.

Person Specification

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Experience working in a bakery, food production, or manufacturing environment.
  • A professional qualification or degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in office management or a supervisory role.
  • Ability to manage people fairly and confidently.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Honesty, trustworthiness, and accountability.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and WhatsApp for reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs.
