Justice Dept backs debate on restricting learners’ social media

By GhanaSummary NewsroomSouth Africa

The Justice and Constitutional Development department says the debate over restricting learners’ access to social media during school hours is an important conversation to have in South Africa.

Four schools from across the country are competing in the 15th Annual South African National Schools Moot Court Programme at the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.

Justice Minister Mamoloko Kubayi says the moot provides learners with an opportunity to engage with constitutional rights and the protection of children in the digital age.
