The meeting tackled Egypt’s efforts to support reform and empower the Palestinian Authority and strengthen its capabilities to assume its responsibilities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in a manner that supports the unity of Palestinian decision-making and institutions and paves the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds city) as its capital.

Jehad Alshrafi/AP Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, discussed with Fatah Central Committee Secretary-General Jibril Rajoub developments in the Palestinian territories, particularly the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as efforts to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Abdelatty condemned repeated attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, as well as the escalation in such attacks.
