”We hope to maintain coach Aboubakar Ouattara for a very long time” – Hearts of Oak board member Vincent Odotei

Vincent Sowah-Odotei, a board member of Hearts of Oak, expressed the club’s delight in having Aboubakar Ouattara as the head coach.

Ouattara, an Ivorian trainer, was appointed as the replacement for Dutch coach Martin Koopman ahead of the second round of the ongoing 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.

Despite a mixed start under Ouattara’s guidance, including a five-game unbeaten run followed by three consecutive losses, Hearts of Oak bounced back with a convincing 3-1 win over Karela United, highlighted by Salim Adams’ remarkable goal.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Sowah-Odotei shared the club’s enthusiasm for having Ouattara on board.

“We are extremely delighted to have him in our team.

Ouattara brings to the board huge experience in the management of football, a deep understanding of the business of football, and extensive collaboration skills with team owners at all levels of a football club,” stated Sowah-Odotei.

“We are extremely happy with him, and it is our hope that we will be able to maintain him for a very long time,” he added.

Currently positioned 9th on the Premier League log with 35 points, Hearts of Oak will face Legon Cities in their Matchday 27 fixture at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
