Ghana Medical Relief Shows Love To Kokrokoo Charities....Donates $2k To Project 100

Ghana Medical Relief (GMR) agency, a Non-Governmental Organisation based in the United States has donated an amount of USD 2000 to the Kokrokoo Charities in support of procuring incubators for medical facilities across the country.GMR is an organization with the mandate of enhancing good healthcare delivery in rural Ghana through a free annual healthcare missions.GMR, as part of its social intervention programmes, decided to donate towards the Project 100 initiative by the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation.The Kokrokoo foundation is an inspiration brought to light by the venerable radio broadcaster, Kwami Sefa Kayi of Peace FM, to curtail the numerous child mortalities associated with preterm babies.The foundation has thus far, donated about 55 incubators to some state health facilities including the Nsawam Government Hospital, La General Hospital, the Police Hospital, Prestea Governmental Hospital in the Western region, Ho Government Hospital and the Cape Coast Government Hospital, among others.It is as a result of this worthy cause by the host of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, which has attracted and continues to attract the support of individuals and corporate bodies, including the Ghana Medical Relief.The Ghana Liaison Officer for GMR, Mr.

Kakraba Anyanful, speaking on the sidelines after the presentation, stated that the relief programme was an activity purposely focused on providing free medical and health services to rural communities.‘’Every year, GMR mobilises a team of healthcare and non-healthcare volunteers from the USA, Ghana, and other parts of the world to provide free medical and dental services to a rural community in Ghana,’’ he said.He added that, GMR in the last five years provided services in the form of Paediatrics, Urology, Dentistry, Obsterics, Gynaecology, Health Education, Surgeries and CPR Training to over 20,000 persons in Asiakwa, Anomabo, Atibie, Agogo and Tamale.In addition to the numerous aid given to persons living in rural areas, GMR also donated medical equipment to some health facilities with a similar donation to be done for persons living in Bortianor.

  Oh his part, Chairman General, as Sefa Kayi is affectionately called, expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership and members of GMR for their kind gesture to the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation, reiterating that the funds donated "will go a long way in our objective to procure more incubators for onward distribution to other hospitals based on needs assessment of these health facilities."
