Organizers of the Ghana Nigeria Music Awards Festival [GNMAs] have announced that the First Edition of the awards scheme will be held at the world’s famous entertainment venue, Fox Theatre in Atlanta Georgia USA on Saturday 18th June, 2022.
The awards scheme, which is the first of its kind, was instituted to recognise and honour distinguished Music Artistes in Ghana and Nigeria who have positively contributed to the steady growth of the music industry in Ghana, Nigeria and across the World.
The USA edition is expected to attract a large number of Ghanaian, Nigerian musicians and stakeholders in the music sector as well as music fans across the borders to reach out to different people and cultures.
Put together by BIG Events Ghana, Universal Events Nigeria and Berk Concept USA, the awards scheme which is an annual event to be staged at the Fox Theatre, seeks to reward hardworking and relentless acts from Ghana and Nigeria.
At a colorful ceremony to officially launch the Ghana Nigeria Music Awards Festival USA, UK and Europe editions, organizers of GNMAs said their focus is to widely help with the circulation, marketing and promotion of nominees, exposing them to the other parts of the world directly and indirectly.
Speaking to the media, the National and International Director, Prince Mackay noted that the value via reach, leverage, coverage and networking the scheme [GNMAs] brings is priceless.
According to the organizers, the GNMAs allows for qualification of acts from Ghana and Nigeria who have been active in the year under review from June 2020 to December 2021.
Acts eligible would file for nominations via GNMAs official website [www.gnmafestival.com]. They could also be nominated by GNMA Board after thorough research, monitoring and evaluation.
Organizers announced that the nomination period would however be opened for entries from 15th February to 15th March 2022. The scheme has forty [40] categories which spans from Gospel, Afrobeats, Hiphop, Highlife, Reggae, Dancehall, Afroblues among others.
“Along with the awards, the festival also brings a mixed bag of activities which would be announced by the GNMA communication team and board to the general public in the very near future.” Communication Director of the scheme, Counsellor Lutterodt, noted.
The Ghana Nigeria Music Awards Festival 2022 is sponsored by Adonko Company Limited and Adonko Next Level Energy Drink.
The GNMAs USA edition comes off in June 2022, UK edition comes off in August 2022 while Europe would experience the Festival in October 2022.
