Security in Northern Ghana must be a top priority for new Defence Minister – Security analyst

Speaking on JoyNews' The Pulse on Friday, August 7, Dr Doke said the minister's success would largely depend on his ability to equip the security services with the resources needed to combat emerging threats, particularly violent extremism along Ghana's northern frontier.

Security analyst Dr Victor Doke has urged the newly assigned Defence Minister, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to make security in Northern Ghana his immediate priority.

He maintained that while security concerns across the country require attention, protecting Ghana's northern frontier should remain the Defence Minister's foremost priority before shifting focus to challenges in other parts of the country.
