Ghana’s development must reach the people, leaders must be accountable - Edith Dzigbordi Baku

Presidential aspirant, Edith Dzigbordi Baku A presidential aspirant on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edith Dzigbordi Baku, has called for greater accountability and transparency in the management of Ghana’s public resources, arguing that economic growth must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.

She stressed that every cedi of public money belongs to the people of Ghana and that public officials entrusted with managing the country’s resources must be prepared to account for their decisions, contracts, expenditures and outcomes.

Baku further argued that accountability must apply equally to all public officials, regardless of political affiliation, position, friendship or influence.
