The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects for alleged human trafficking and cyber-enabled criminal activities following an intelligence-led operation at Kwabenya in Accra.

The Director-General of the CID, Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, said this at a press briefing on Wednesday, July 21, 2026, where she gave updates on four major operations involving cyber-enabled fraud, human trafficking and illicit firearms trafficking.

The operation, conducted on July 12, 2026, involved personnel from the Cybercrime Unit, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and the CID Headquarters Operations Unit.
