Banker & Forensic Investigations Expert, Enyonam Adzo Apetorgbor, has said that a forensic audit of the voter register will demonstrate the Electoral Commission's commitment to transparency.
By subjecting the electoral register to an independent rigorous review, she said, the Commission would be sending a strong signal that it values openness and is willing to ensure that no eligible voter is disenfranchised while also preventing the inclusion of ineligible voters.
Her comments at a time when the EC rejected the call by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to conduct a forensic audit of the voter register.
The Commission said this while responding to the petition submitted by the main opposition party.
