Security Analyst Richard Kumadoe has strongly opposed suggestions for military involvement in election security, insisting that the Ghana Police Service must be held accountable for maintaining law and order during electoral processes.
His remarks follow the violent incident at the St.
Peter's Society Methodist Church polling station during the July 11 parliamentary rerun in Ablekuma North, where a group of heavily built men attacked voters and electoral officials.
Ahead of the rerun, the Ministry of Defence had announced that the military would not be deployed for election-related duties in the constituency.
