The flagbearer of the (NDC), has boldly declared himself as the holder of the number 8, challenging those aiming to break the 8 to prove their claims.
Speaking to artisans at the Konkonpe Spare Parts Line in the Ablekuma North Constituency of the Greater Accra Region as part of his campaign tour, Mahama emphasized his new association with the number 8, a key symbol in the ongoing political rhetoric. "They are now shying away from breaking the 8 because I hold the eight," he said Mahama's remarks come as a direct challenge to the (NPP), which has been campaigning to "break the 8" by winning a third consecutive term in the 2024 elections. "If they say they want to break the 8, let them try and do so for me to see, because I am now the holder of the number 8," Mahama asserted.
In addition to his symbolic message, Mahama assured the artisans that under the next NDC administration, a fixed-rate system would be introduced at Ghana's ports.
This, he said, would ensure a transparent and efficient process for importing goods, benefiting local businesses and importers alike.
