A CDD Research Fellow in Public Health, Dr Kwame Sarpong Asiedu, has raised concerns about the possibility that the report from the committee that probed the alleged assault incident at Ridge Hospital could be flawed.

The committee set up by the Minister of Health, , to investigate the alleged assault on a nurse at the Ridge Hospital found no medical evidence to support claims of a shoulder dislocation.

Presenting its findings to the minister on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the committee stated that Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a rotation nurse at the hospital, reported her injuries a day after the incident, which occurred on August 18, 2025.

According to medical records reviewed by the committee, there were no signs of a fracture in her left wrist or a dislocation in her right shoulder joint.
