Legal practitioner and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Communications Team, Kwasi Kwarteng, has criticized the party's leadership over what he describes as "unfair treatment" and "bias" in favor of one candidate in the upcoming NPP presidential primaries.

In a strongly worded statement on Facebook, Mr.

Kwarteng, who also serves as a spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong, condemned the decision by party executives to use the NPP's official social media handles exclusively to livestream the nomination filing of one candidate, believed to be Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB). "The use of the official party's social media handles to stream only DMB's nomination filing is a betrayal of the very unity our leadership claims to preach," Kwarteng wrote. "It is yet another example of the deliberate and consistent attempts by party leaders to give him an undue advantage in this primary, just as they did in the previous one." According to him, such actions have historically weakened the party and contributed to poor electoral outcomes. "These unfortunate acts were among the reasons for our poor performance in past elections," he said. "Under his watch, we recorded the worst results in our party's history: a 31% drop in national votes, a 16% decline in northern votes, a 33% fall in southern votes, and virtually no support from the Zongo communities."
